London in the White.

As I write this, the snow falls thick and heavy outside! It has been steadily snowing since I woke up this morning with no relent.

Flights are cancelled, airports are cancelled, tubes are stopping and buses are a nightmare. So we play.

Walking to the supermarket takes longer, involving stops to have snowball fights with young children, watching people have near slips and almost misses followed by knowing glances; "I'm not used to this. This Arsenal jacket is the warmest I have."

Parks are filled with taboggans and the sad leftovers of carefully constructed snowmen. Pavements are mere routes to each destination, bodies covered from head to toe, faces down to avoid snow in the eye, focus only on that tiny, but warm flat. The cup of tea and scone forcing one foot in front of the other.

London doesn't close down, but I do.

Hot chocolate, toast and movies for the day.

Oh, and maybe a trip or two outside to play. You have to make the most of snow in January.
